Admissions & Prerequisites
CSU Channel Islands accepts applications for its Nurse Practitioner programs yearly. The application window from December 1 through March 31 leads to Summer admission for both MSN-FNP Program and Post-Master’s FNP Certificate.
Qualified candidates need a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a regionally accredited university (CCNE, CNEA, or ACEN). Your academic record should show a minimum 2.5 overall GPA and a 3.0 GPA in your final sixty semester units. The program also requires a valid RN license and at least one year of full-time clinical experience within the last three years.
The application process follows these four steps:

- Complete the Cal State Apply application
- Submit all required transcripts from previous institutions
- Submit your Intent to Enroll and deposit upon acceptance
